Intriguing results. Elsewhere in the pole teaching industry, there's a concentrated effort to remove all sensual elements from pole dancing and have it 'performed' as a series of monkey tricks. In my classes though we do the slower, seductive and graceful movements as well as the tricks. In my opinion you can't have one without the other in true pole dancing; what's the point of doing an eye-popping trick if you cannot get up from the floor elegantly? Or move from one spin effortlessly into another.

How about why people continue to pole dance? Lots of people start, only some of us are masochistic enough to continue.

Yes I'll have to add a couple of things to the original list (bites tongue)
Puss: feel free to add a few suggestions as to why.. the challenge, competitiveness, addiction, career, .. what else?
Er, exhibitionism?

Okay, maybe that's just me then...
