I LOVE Aston Martins. If I catch one out of the corner of my eye on the road, they give me goosebumps and make my heart skip a beat. A bit like having a girlie crush except the subject has 4 wheels instead of 2 feet. Yes, I'm a bit of an Aston Martin anorak. To date I've never even sat in one before, so the excitement levels were nearly at overload this morning as me pole pal / motoring journalist Sarah had invited me along up to Aston Martin HQ to drop off the V8 Vantage she'd been road testing over the weekend. And OMG she let me drive the thing up a stretch of the M40.
Aston Martins are a thing of beauty. Like an open log fire they touch all of the senses simultaneously. Which probably makes for something of a driving hazard doing ***mph up the motorway but who's looking.
As well as being jaw droppingly stunning to look at, the dirty growl the engine makes on hard acceleration is just the right side of being plainly immoral. The car smells of fine leather, and the killer sensation of being shoved back into the driving seat when you put your foot down is something I'm not going into further here for many reasons.
Just now I am in total lust and love.

I hear ya Minx ! I'v never had that particular pleasure but have so many car-crush's that it borders on obscene. Local dealer this year invited me to view, sadly not drive, the new viper. 645 horses, tons of torque.gorgeous to look at...
Nearly dropped my laundry right there and screamed "take me now".
I won't start on the Stealth, or the Mercedes McLaren (sp?)

I would give anything to smell the fine leather of an aston martin right now. My basement just flooded with sewage and my house smells like poop :)

I love to hit 80 to 90 on my way to work, especially when people on the other side of the highway are crawling along in gridlock. So I honk my horn at them....
An Aston is an excellent choice. I have driven several, and enjoyed them enormously. Also the Porsche 911, and once a Massaratii. I wish I could afford any of them.
